The Brown Dog Cancer Charity who we are

The Brown Dog Cancer Charity is run by a volunteer committee of Trustees

Chairman Nicky Watkins

  • Determine agenda for meetings
  • Ensure meeting participants have equal opportunity to contribute
  • Propose a vote at meetings (when appropriate)
    To have deciding vote where voting is equal
  • To ensure resolutions/compromises are achieved amicably Undertake official Brown Dog duties e.g. presenting cheques to charities
  • Oversee other committee activities where appropriate
    Be key contact with LloydsTSB Foundations

Secretary Peter Fowler

  • Liase with the Chairman to obtain meeting agenda
  • Ensure information on meetings is issued within agreed time-scales
  • Ensure meeting minutes and actions are documented validated
  • Retail membership file, with details of all Trustees and Members Act as a contact for any enquiries to Brown Dog
  • Ensure any Brown Dog enquiries are responded within agreed time-frame
  • Ensure Brown Dog is compliant in relation to the Charity Commission

Operations Directors: Richard Little, Anil Patel, Richard Parkes and Nick Hill

  • Project manage the annual challenge
  • Produce a detailed annual challenge plan, including time-scales and accountability
  • Call meetings/teleconferences (as appropriate) to manage progress
  • Determine annual Dry Run requirements (including objectives and team requirements)
  • Ensure on all challenge activity that safety is considered as the number one priority.
  • Ensure advise relative to safety (e.g. equipment required, training etc) is communicated to all challengers.

Financial Director Ian Alexander

  • Produce, maintain and control all Brown Dog accounts
  • Produce annual financial report
  • Ensure the Brown Dog accounting process is fully compliant
  • Provide financial advice (as appropriate) to the Brown Dog Trustees
  • Produce a monthly account statement

Founding Director Mark Storer

  • To figure-head the whole ethos of Brown Dog as an ex.cancer patient
  • To define and develop Brown Dog objects and values (with Trustees)
  • To define and develop Brown Dog strategy (with Trustees)
  • To ensure that actions agreed at team meeting are in line with Brown Dog values, objects and strategy
  • To support the Chairman in a vice-chairman capacity and deputise in his absence)
  • To work closely with the Marketing and Customer Directors to increase both income and support to customers respectively.
